ISTANBUL - Asrın Law Office's application to Bursa Execution Judge for an "immediate meeting" was rejected on the grounds of a 6-month lawyer and 3-month family visit ban given to PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Lawyers of Asrın Law Office applied to Bursa Execution Judgeship on November 22, requesting an "immediate meeting" with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and prisoners Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş, who were held under heavy isolation conditions in İmralı High Security Type F Prison. In their application, the lawyers pointed out that they had not heard from Öcalan and their 3 other clients for 8 months, and that they had no information about their life and health conditions, detention conditions and legal situations. The lawyers requested the court to "end the state of non-communication" and to establish physical contact with their clients.
6 MONTHS LAWYER BAN
It turned out that two new disciplinary punishments were imposed on Öcalan which was revealed with the application of the lawyers. The Bursa Execution Judgeship which rejected the application told that he rejected the application on grounds of a new disciplinary punishment given to Öcalan on October 12.
3 MONTH BAN ON FAMILY VISITS
In its refusal decision regarding the family visit, the judgeship presented the decision of the Disciplinary Board of the İmralı Penitentiary Directorate, dated August 18 and told that family visits were banned for 3 months.
The judgeship did not based its decision on anything and did not provide the lawyers with any justification.
