ANKARA - Following the discussions regarding the lifting of the parliamentary immunity of HDP MP Semra Güzel at the Joint Commission, an Investigation Committee has been established.
Discussions on lifting the "immunity" of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Deputy Semra Güzel ended in the Joint Commission, which consists of the Constitution and Justice Commission. HDP Women's Council Spokesperson Ayşe Acar Başaran, Group Deputy Chair Meral Danış Beştaş, MPs Abdullah Koç, Oya Ersoy, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, Zuleyha Gülüm, Murat Çepni, Şevin Coşkun, Serpil Kemalbay, Erdal Aydemir, Ayşe Sürücü, Nuran İmir, Filiz Kerestecioğlu and Celadet Gaydalı , Mahmut Toğrul and Necdet İpekyüz participated in the discussions.
Stating that the discussion of the immunity files was carried out in accordance with the principle of confidentiality, Bozdağ noted that he would have the proceedings read and negotiations would be held on the immunity file. Journalists and advisors of the MPs on the commission were removed from the hall by the order of Commission President Bekir Bozdağ. Bozdag also demanded the removal of deputies who are not members of the commission. Upon the objection of HDP MPs, the commission held a discussion on the working procedure. After the meeting, which lasted about an hour and a half, it was decided that the deputies who were not members of the commission should also attend.
INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE WAS ESTABLISHED
An investigation committee was established at the meeting, which was also attended by MPs who were not members of the commission. AKP's Ramazan Can, Abdullah Güler and Zeynep Gülyılmaz, HDP's Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki and CHP's Rafet Zeybek were elected to the Investigation Commission.
