The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Reisi crashed in mountainous terrain in East Azerbaijan province yesterday evening. The wreckage of the helicopter, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan, was found. In the official statement made by Iran, it was stated that all those on board the helicopter lost their lives.
In its statement in IRNA, Iranian Government Spokesperson Hadi Taha Nazif announced that the first vice president will assume the administrative duties of the country after the death of Raisi is confirmed. Thus, the authority was given to Mohammed Muhbir, the first vice president of the President.
