VAN - Expressing that they are determined in the fight against isolation, HDP Co-Chairperson Tayip Temel said: “Our most basic agenda is to ensure the freedom of Mr. Öcalan. Any other way is unacceptable."

 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Wan Provincial Organization organised an event with the slogan of "Onward with the continued struggle". Citizens and party members who have been involved in politics at parties in the HDP tradition for years attended the event held in a wedding hall. HDP Co-Chair and Van MP Tayip Temel made the opening speech of the meeting.

 

'THE LAW SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED IN IMRALI'

 

Stating that the anger of the Kurdish people against this situation is growing day by day, Temel said: "The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) announced that it had gone to Imrali a month ago. We learned from many sources that Mr. Öcalan did not attend the meeting. We understand from this that the CPT has not obtained any information about Mr. Öcalan. Isolation is the isolation of the will of a people and the desire to be forgotten. Mr. Öcalan's reason for starting the struggle was the denial of the Kurdish people. Öcalan's goal was the freedom of the Kurdish people. Our most fundamental agenda today is to ensure the freedom of Mr. Öcalan. The law should be implemented ın Imrali. We are determined to fight against isolation. The Kurdish people must do their best to break this isolation. Any other way is unacceptable. The sit-in is taken by HDP MPs in front of the Ministry of Justice to break the isolation. The main purpose of this sit-in, which will continue, is to break the isolation and ensure the law."
