ŞIRNAK– It has been stated that the prisoners who were referring from Maraş to Samsun were tortured until they passed out by taking off their clothes on the way from the ring vehicle.

 

Following the earthquakes that took place on February 6 in the Pazarcık district of Maraş, some of the prisoners in the region were referred to different prisons. Some of the prisoners in Türkoğlu No. 1 and No. 2 Closed Prison in the city were referred to Samsun Kavak Type T Closed Prison. In his weekly phone call with his family, Yaşar Prosecutor, one of the referred ones, conveyed the violations that occurred during the referral. The prosecutor stated that after the prison ring vehicle was stopped in one place, they were stripped naked and then tortured until they passed out.

 

THEY WERE TORTURED ON THE ROAD

 

The mother of prosecutor, Hanife Savcı (49), said that her son was subjected to torture for hours and described the event. One day after the earthquake, they were referred from the prison they were in to another prison. During the referral, they were tortured for hours. They stop the ring car at one point and get them out of the car. They stripped them and they torture them. They torture them until they pass out. Then they put him in the car naked and take him to the prison that way. They torture them after they take them to prison.”

 

Noting that the torture still continues, the prosecutor said that his son called on human rights defenders and lawyers to visit them.
