AMED - 2023 Newroz, emphasized in the declaration titled “We are marching to freedom with the fire of Newroz”, “There will be a Newroz in which the pain and anger of the earthquake will socialize and pour into the fields in millions”.

 

The start of the Newroz celebrations, which will be held this year with the motto "Everywhere is Newroz, Everytime is Newroz," and dedicated to those who lost their lives in the Maraş-centered earthquakes, was given with the declaration announced in Amed(Diyarbakır). The declaration signed by Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Free Women's Movement (TJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), People's Democratic Party (HDP), the United Women's Platform, Human and Freedom Party (PIA), Kurdistan Democratic Party-Turkey (KDP-T) the Azadi Party and the Kurdistan Communist Party (KKP) was announced at the Dicle Fırat Culture and Art Center in Sur district of Amed.

 

DTK Co-Chair Berdan Öztürk, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, PİA Chairperson Mehmet Kamaç, KKP Chairperson Sinan Çiftyürek, KDP-T Chairperson Mehmet Emin Gardaş, Kurdistan Socialist Party (PSK) Parliament member Ali Haydar joined the Azadi Movement Cemal Satı.

 

DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz stated that they will start Newroz and said: “For thousands of years, Newroz has been welcomed as a day of resurrection, serhildan(uprising) and freedom. However, this year, we face the pain of the earthquake. This year, we dedicate the Newroz program to those who lost their lives in the earthquake.”

 

Expressing that they will hold celebrations in 43 centers and that the first fire will be lit in the Şemzînan district of Colemêrg, Aydeniz said that the fire will be raised in many centers. Expressing that they will raise the Newroz fire and hold the government accountable, Aydeniz stated that they will hold commemorative events on March 17 and 18.
