VAN- Newroz celebrations in Iran combined with Jîna Emini actions. The people who took to the streets lit the Newroz fire more intensely.

 

After Jîna Emini was murdered by the "Moral Police" on the grounds that her headscarf did not comply with Islamic values, Iranian peoples took to the streets to protest. While the main slogan of the protests was "Jîn Jîyan Azadî", the riots that started in October combined with Newroz.

 

Iranian peoples were on the streets this evening to both celebrate Newroz and protest the Regime. Citizens who came together in different cities of the country lit the Newroz fire with the photographs of the Regime administrators. After lighting the fire, the marching crowd said: “Martyrs do not die."

 

WOMEN BURNED THEIR HEADSCARVES

 

The women who took the front line in the protests set on the fire with their headscarves. Women dancing around the fire shouted “Jîn Jîyan Azadî” slogans.

 

It is also reported that the Iranian regime intervened in some places against the demonstrators and 3 activists were injured.
