ANKARA - HDP Group Deputy Chairpersons Meral Danış Beştaş and Saruhan Oluç, who stated that there was a serious lack of coordination and planlessness in the disaster area after the earthquakes, and therefore requested a Parliamentary Investigation Commission on the Red Crescent, said: "The Red Crescent has lost its identity as a charity."

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Group Deputy Chairpersons Meral Danış Beştaş and Saruhan Oluç, especially the allegations of corruption and incompetence against Kızılay; HDP asked for a Parliamentary Investigation to be opened in order to reveal the reasons and the responsible persons of the Red Crescent institution's failure to intervene in the earthquake area in a timely and effective manner.

'AFAD HASN'T FULFILLED ITS RESPONSIBILITIES'

In the proposal submitted to the speaker's office, it was stated that after the earthquakes, a serious incoordination and unplanned situation emerged in the disaster area. Although AFAD is at the center of these shortcomings, Kızılay has not fulfilled its responsibilities since the first day of the earthquake and has not been able to respond to needs and demands in a timely, appropriate and appropriate manner."

'NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION'

Reminding that there are still unreachable villages and hamlets in the first three weeks after the earthquakes, the motion said. “This gigantic disruption, irresponsibility and inability to manage cannot be accepted. Red Crescent is an aid organization that has been tasked with helping people who are victims of war and disaster, regardless of any conditions, and whose mission and vision is to provide the necessary assistance without any ethnic, religious or political discrimination. This organization, which has been established for more than a century, has taken on a political structure in recent years and has become a profit-oriented organization."

THE RELATIONSHIP OF KIZILAY WITH FOUNDATIONS

Reminding that the President of the Red Crescent Kerem Kınık requested donations after the Xarpêt earthquake in 200, the motion also stated that the transfer of money from the Red Crescent's own budget to many foundations emerged. It was said In the proposal: “As it will be remembered, it was revealed that Başkentgaz company belonging to Torunlar Holding donated 7 million 800 thousand dollars conditionally to Kızılay. 7 million 725 thousand dollars of the said amount was transferred to the Ensar Foundation upon the request of the donor, with 75,000 dollars remaining in the Red Crescent. The Ensar Foundation, on the other hand, stated that a dormitory would be built with this donation, and after the official statements, it was revealed that the Ensar Foundation, together with TÜRGEV, transferred the 'donation' to the USA. Ensar Foundation General Manager Hüseyin Kader announced that the money was transferred to the TÜRKEN Foundation, which was established jointly by TÜRGEV and Ensar Foundation in the USA."
