24 detentions in Mersin-based operation

MERSIN - 24 people, including journalist Delal Akyüz and HDP, DBP and Çukurova TUAY-DER executives, were detained in the investigation launched with the allegation of sharing social media and sending money to prisoners in 5 Mersin-based provinces.
 
Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office detained 28 people within the scope of the investigation launched on the grounds that money was sent to prisoners in prison through Çukurova Association for Assistance with the Families of Prisoners and Convicts (Çukurova TUAY-DER).  Police raided many addresses in Mersin, Ankara, Antalya, Adana and İzmir early in the morning along with the investigation.
 
24 PEOPLE WERE DETAINED
 
While the doors of the raided houses were smashed, the raids included our İzmir correspondent Delal Akyüz and HDP Yenişehir District President İbrahim Kaylan, HDP Yenişehir former District President Emrah Deniz, HDP Provincial Manager Devrim Aydın, DBP administrators Kadri Ezel, Cengiz Dere, Çukurova TUAYDER administrators Esmer Oğuz, Selim Ekici, 85 percent disabled Azat Taş, HDP Mersin Youth Council members Süreyya Ceylan, Özkan Yalçın and Beşir Acar, Yusuf Korkut, Nebi Korkut, Ramazan Çatuk, Ramazan Aslan, Ferhat Demir, İbrahim Durak, Engin Aydemir, Erhan Beyhan, Hamza Arpac, Mehmet Kapan and Özkan Yalçın including 24 people were detained.
