ANKARA - Journalist Fırat Can Arslan, who has been detained in Kırşehir for 4 days, has been referred to the courthouse.

 

Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Fırat Can Arslan, who was detained in the raid on his house in Ankara on June 7 as part of an investigation launched in Kırşehir, was referred to the courthouse.

 

ACCUSATION AGAINST ARSLAN IS NOT CLEAR

 

It has been learned that the accusation against Arslan, who has been detained for four days, has not yet been clarified. The investigation opened against Arslan in 2022 on the charge of "praising the crime and the criminal" was sent to Kırşehir with the decision of "lack of authority". Arslan was detained on charges of "propaganda" as part of the investigation carried out in Kırşehir. During the four-day detention period, while digital materials were examined for the accusation of "propaganda", it was stated that the prosecutor's office gave instructions to "investigate in terms of membership". Upon the order of the prosecutor's office, many news reports about Arslan's detention were added to the file.

 

ARSLAN USED HIS RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

 

Arslan, who was detained for four days, did not testify at the police station, using his right to remain silent, "because the nature of the crime is not clear and he does not know what he is accused of at this stage".

 

Arslan was referred to the courthouse after his health check.
