NEWS CENTER - There has been no news from journalist Süleyman Ahmet, who was detained by the KDP security forces at the Sêmalka Border Gate, for 56 days.

 

There has been no news from Rojnews Arabic Service Editor Süleyman Ahmet for 56 days. Journalist Ahmet was detained by the KDP security forces at the Pêşxabûr (Sêmalka) Border Gate while returning to Southern Kurdistan on October 25 from the city of Aleppo, where he went to visit his family on October 1.

 

In the statement made by Duhok Public Order, affiliated with KDP, 6 days after his detention, allegations were made that Ahmet had nothing to do with journalism.

 

Nerîman Ahmed, one of Süleyman Ahmet's lawyers, stated that the Duhok Public Order prevented them from meeting with their client on the grounds that the investigation was continuing and that the file was under the control of Parastin (KDP's intelligence agency).
