ANKARA - Prisoner Qereyazi Municipality Co-Mayor Melike Göksu, who went on a hunger strike to demand the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, said: "It is obvious that the only solution to the imposed deadlock is Mr. Öcalan and his ideas."

Qereyazi (Karayazı) Municipality Co-Mayor Melike Göksu, who was arrested by appointing a trustee in Sincan Women's Closed Prison, stated in the letter she sent through her lawyers that she started a hunger strike within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign. Noting that the only solution to the Kurdish issue is PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Göksu called on everyone to fulfill their historical responsibility.

Göksu pointed out that the isolation policies implemented for years are policies aimed at social truth and said: “The absolute isolation policies implemented in İmralı Prison for years reveal the reality of the Turkish administration. When we look at the current situation; We see that what is isolated are social truths. Oppression and isolation policies are applied to almost all segments of society. Everyone, every segment of society, gets their share from this understanding."

'THINGS THAT HAPPENED ARE THE RESULT OF REMAINING SILENT'

Göksu continued with the following statements in the letter: “The polarization in society; The reckless tyranny imposed on the others by religiousism, nationalism. The social and economic pressure applied to women, youth and children have made the society uninhabitable. This situation is the result of remaining silent about the policies implemented against Mr. Öcalan and the Kurds. To remain silent and ignore the injustice and lawlessness that is happening so clearly means to remain in need of justice, peace and prosperity. World-famous sociologists, thinkers, writers and intellectuals expressed their support for ideas of Mr. Öcalan in the campaign for freedom for Mr. Öcalan, which was launched in 74 countries.

IT IS THE TRUTH ITSELF IS ISOLATED

Mr. Öcalan and his ideas are isolated. In fact, it is the truth itself that is isolated. It is obvious that the only solution to the imposed deadlock is Mr. Öcalan and his ideas. With the awareness of all this, I went on a rotating hunger strike demanding freedom for Mr. Öcalan and a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue. I believe that peoples will fulfill their historical responsibility by embracing this action. We need social peace more than anything else. Mr. Öcalan's message 'I can solve the Kurdish issue in a week' clearly shows that Mr. Öcalan is the solution."
