NEWS CENTER - On the 1st anniversary of the Mereş-centered earthquakes, commemorations will be held in the cities affected by the earthquake. At 04.17 am, the time of the first earthquake, there will be torchlight marches.

 

Various commemorative events will be held today and tomorrow in Semsûr (Adıyaman), Meletî (Malatya), Mereş (Maraş), Dîlok (Antep), Hatay, Amed (Diyarbakır) and Riha (Urfa), where heavy destruction was experienced in the February 6 earthquakes centered in Mereş, on the anniversary of the earthquake.

 

SEMSÛR

 

Karapınar Cemevi will be visited today at 12.00 with the participation of People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan. At 14.00, DEM Party will hold a public meeting in Karapınar District, where the container area is located. At 16.00, a public meeting will be held in Bulam Town of Çêlikan district.

 

MEREŞ

 

In Mereş, the epicenter of the earthquake, a cemetery visit will be held today at 11.30 with the participation of DEM Party Co-Chair Tulay Hatimoglu. At 13:00, the village of Çiğili in Dulkadiroğlu district, where the destruction occurred in the earthquake, will be visited. Then, at 14.00, the cemevi in Narlı district will be visited. At 15.00, party members will visit the earthquake victims in Bazarcix (Pazarcık) district, the epicenter of the earthquake, which suffered great damage in the earthquake.

 

MELETI

 

DEM Party Meleti Provincial Organization will visit the earthquake victims staying in the Cemal Gürsel container city at 11.00 on February 6, with the participation of Tuncer Bakırhan. At 12:00, donuts will be distributed to earthquake victims at the container area of DEM Party in Çirmik (Yeşilyurt) district. The program will end with a public meeting to be held at Emeksiz junction in Çirmik district at 12.30.

 

RIHA

 

Riha Labor and Democracy Platform will also hold a press statement on February 6 at 12.30 in front of Ahmet Bahçıvan Business Center in the central Haliliye district. 

 

DİLOK

 

Labor and Democracy Platform in Dîlok will make a press statement at Democracy Square on February 6 at 17.30 in İslahiye district, which was heavily damaged by the earthquake.
