SIRNAK– Sırnak Governor Cevdet Atay started distributing white goods and food supplies just days before the elections. DEM Party member Zeki Irmez said: "The governor, district governor and military command level work like the AKP provincial president."

Just a few days before the local elections, Sırnak Governor Cevdet Atay started distributing white goods and food supplies to the public. Governor Atay went from neighborhood to neighborhood in recent weeks, looked into the refrigerators of some citizens whose homes he visited. In accordance with the governor's instructions, items such as televisions, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, sofa beds, desks and chairs were delivered to these families by the Sırnak Governorship Social Assistance Foundation. Shopping cards containing 1,500 Liras were distributed to some families.

These visits of Governor Atay were shared on both his and the governorship's official virtual media accounts.

According to the information obtained, Governor Atay made statements during these visits that they were satisfied with the current AKP municipal administration and wanted them to be re-elected.

Reacting to these pre-election visits, People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Sırnak Deputy Zeki Irmez stated that not only in this election but also in previous elections, the heads of state institutions carried out election work for the ruling party.

'THEY WORK LIKE AKP PROVINCIAL PRESIDENT'

Irmez said: “Those who run the administrative institutions in the city go out to collect votes like party workers. Now they are carrying out voting activities in the field like AKP employees. They do this openly. They go from house to house with AKP candidates. These were reflected in the public opinion. Unfortunately, no investigation has been initiated regarding this issue. They do this all over Kurdistan. The chiefs of state institutions use state institutions for the AKP and provide services to them."

Irmez cotunied: "The governor, district governor and military command level work like the AKP provincial president. They are currently distributing white goods and food supplies in Sırnak. We have been saying for years that there are two parties conducting election campaign in Kurdistan. The first is our party. The second is the whole state. We are running the elections with the state, not with this party or that party. All state institutions are working for the AKP against our party.”

'ALL EFFORTS ARE IN VAIN'

Saying that all the efforts of the local administrators are in vain, Irmez said: “We get our power from the people. We carry out all our work selflessly together with our people. We are working 24 hours a day to ensure that the will of our people comes out of the ballot box, and we will achieve victory on March 31."
