QERS – It was revealed that Dîgor Municipality, which passed from AKP to DEM Party in the local elections, has a debt of 15 million TL.

In the elections held on March 31 in Dîgor (Digor) district of Qers, People's Equality and Democracy (DEM Party) co-mayor candidates Ulker Ozati and Adem Oyman won the municipality. The co-mayors, who received their certificates of election on April 3, immediately began their duties.

With the work started, it was determined that the municipality, whose economic picture was drawn, was placed under a large debt burden.

The list of debts left by the AKP administration as of the end of 2023 is as follows:

“*Relevant parties in budget entrustment: 340.285.35 Liras

*Goods Directorate (Taxes) debt: 2.224.698.57 Liras

* Loan debt received from Iller Bank: 4.338.210.35 Liras

*SKG and Pension Fund debts: 207.560.21 Liras

*Other debts: 7.937.710.26 Liras”

When the items in question are added up, the total debt of the municipality reaches 15 million 098 thousand 464 Liras.

A trustee was appointed to Dîgor Municipality, which was won by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) in the 2014 local elections, on February 9, 2017, by the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The municipality, which was managed by a trustee for 2 years and 1 month, was taken over by the AKP in the 2019 local elections, which were subject to irregularities and suspicions. During the term of AKP member Nebi Kerenci, who served as mayor for two years and five years, no visible services were provided in the district.
