NEWS CENTER - In the Tahir Elçi murder case, the prosecutor gave its opinion for the acquittal of the defendants.

 

It was stated that the prosecutor gave an opinion in favor of the acquittal of the defendants in the case filed regarding the murder of Tahir Elçi, former President of Amed Bar Association, on November 28, 2015. Amed Bar Association President Nahit Eren made the following statements on his X virtual media platform account: "At the end of 8 years, D.Bakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office gave an opinion for the acquittal of the defendants in the file of our Bar Association Chair, Lawyer Tahir Elçi, who was murdered in front of dozens of cameras. That dark day will definitely come to light one day." 

The hearing regarding the murder of Elçi will be held at Diyarbakır 10th High Criminal Court on June 12. In the case, police officers Sinan Tabur, Fuat Tan and Mesut Sevgi, who are on trial without arrest, are accused of "causing death through conscious negligence".
