AMED - Prisoners in Diyarbakır prisons sent a message to the mothers at the Justice Watch and said: "Your struggle and action are legitimate and justified. We say 'serkeftin' to all our patriotic people through you."

The rotating hunger strike started by political prisoners demanding the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on November 27, 2023 continues. Prisoners who went on hunger strike in prisons in Amed sent a message to the mothers who started the Justice Watch with the same demand.

Pointing out that the Kurds have been struggling for their status and freedom for a long time, the message said: “A new campaign has recently been launched. There is a demand for permanent status within the scope of the 'Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue' campaign. Both demands are justified and will remain on the agenda until their goal is achieved. We stand behind this demand until the end."

The continuation of the message sent by the prisoners to the mothers at the Justice Watch included the following statements: "You have selflessly fulfilled all your missions so far, and we will do our part, too. We know that Leader Apo's (Abdullah Ocalan) freedom and the democratic solution to the Kurdish issue will not be achieved easily. It is a process that requires sacrifice in every aspect. We have seen throughout this 50-year period that you have fulfilled all your responsibilities. You still fulfill it today. Your sacrifice is as important and valuable today as it was yesterday.

IT GIVES US STRENGTH

We participated in the campaign as prisoners held in Amed. Even though our conditions are difficult, we know that your conditions are also difficult in many ways. Despite all the difficulties, you continue your struggle in every way. Your efforts give us strength and morale.

As prisoners of freedom, we would like to express our feelings and thoughts with this message as follows; Your struggle and action initiated to demand freedom for Leader Apo and a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue are legitimate and justified. It also gives us morale and strength. We say 'serkeftin(success )' to all our patriotic people, including you. As your children in Amed dungeons, we are with you wholeheartedly. “Bijî berxwedana gelê me yê birûmet (Long live the resistance of our honorable people)”
