AMED - Journalist Takor Serdeştî stated that the KDP paved the way for Turkey in the Federated Kurdistan Region and said: “Turkey would not even dream of entering the region if the KDP had not pioneered it.”

The attacks launched by Turkey on the territory of the Federated Kurdistan Region in cooperation with the KDP continue uninterruptedly. In recent days, Turkey, under the supervision of the KDP, has shipped a large number of soldiers and heavy weapons to the countryside of Amêdiye district in Dohuk. While the deployment continues, airstrikes against the region also continue. After the latest Turkish airstrikes, 184 families had to leave their homes in Dohuk. 19 houses, 2 schools, 1 flour factory, 1 automobile, a church and 2 water plants were also targeted by airstrikes.

170 VILLAGES EVACUATED

Since the beginning of the attacks, 170 villages have been completely evacuated and 602 villages have been threatened with evacuation. According to reports by international organizations, 68,000 acres of forests have been completely burned down during the Turkish offensive. In a statement released on August 14 in Silêmaniyê, the CPT shared data on the attacks by Turkey and Iran on Federated Kurdistan between 1991 and 2024. According to CPT data, 344 people were killed and 358 injured in these attacks. In Iranian attacks, 81 people lost their lives and 62 were injured.

'KURDISH VALUES ARE TARGETED'

Takor Serdeştî, a journalist in the region, evaluated Turkey's attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region. Stating that mountains and nature have historical and cultural importance for the Kurdish people, Serdeştî said: “These attacks are not only physical. It is also an attack on the Kurdish people's identity and tradition of resistance. For the Kurdish people, the mountains are not only a living space, but also a symbol of identity and resistance. Throughout history, Kurds have retreated to their mountains and resisted against oppression and occupation. Today, Turkey, with the support of the KDP, occupies these mountains and targets the values of the Kurdish people. With these attacks, they want to place gangs in the mountains. Villages are bombed, forests are burned and people's livelihoods are destroyed. Today, Turkey, with the support of the KDP, has entered places it could not enter for years. A few years ago, Turkey could not even dream of entering these places. But the KDP led the way and built roads in the mountains, allowing Turkey to enter these places.”

Serdeştî said the following: “The Kurdish people need to show the whole world that this is the land of Kurdistan. If this is not done, Turkey's Ottoman dreams will be realized. The people need to show their reaction and stop the attacks of Turkey and the KDP, which are breaking.”
