ŞIRNAK - In the eve of the march to Ankara that HDP will initiate, the entries and exits from the city of Şırnak are prohibited by the Provincial Sanitary Board of Şırnak targeting the "demos and events planned to take place".
The Governorship of Şırnak has announced that all demonstrations and events including protest marches, setting-up tents and statements for the press have been banned in the city center and districts of Turkey's eastern province of Şırnak for 15 days just before the start of the march, which will be launched by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) from Hakkari and Edirne to finally meet in the Turkish capital. COVID-19 was shown as the justification for the decision announced yesterday by the Provincial Sanitary Board of Şırnak.
BAN ON TRAVELLING TO THE DEMOS IN THE OTHER CITIES!
As it was stated as "It is decided to ban entering our city as well as leaving our city to go to another city to attend any open air/or closed demonstrations and events for the individuals and for the vehicles, considering the risk of spread within the scope of measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19" in the announcement of the Sanitary Board, it was also noted that the prohibition will be applied for 15 days as of June 15 2020.
ORDER FOR THE LAW-ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS
Any possible demonstrations, marches, rallies, open air meetings, protests, public actions, sitting actions, hunger strikes, opening stands, setting up tents, street petition campaigns, concerts, festivities, hanging or distributin flyers and leaflets as well as hanging posters were also banned. The board also ordered the law-enforcement officers to act “meticulously” and not to let any setback regarding any circumstances that may develop.
