URFA – Senyaşar family staging a sit in for the last 110 days demanding justice, headed back to Suruç, to their home after holding talks in İstanbul. Ferit Şenyaşar shared the information that İstanbul Bar Association administrators will head to Urfa to meet with the prosecutor.
Emine Şenyaşar who lost her husband and two suns in the attack carried out by the bodyguards and relatives of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız and her son Ferit Şenyaşar who survived the attack wounded continues the sit in they started in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 110 days. Staging a sit in they named the 'Justice Watch' five days a week in front of the Urfa Courthouse, Şenyaşar family continues the sit in in their home in Suruç on weekends.
Mother and son who went to İstanbul to get help to be heard, told about their struggle for justice at the Democracy Conference on June 24. Appearing on some TV shows, the family also visited İstanbul Bar Association and Peoples' Bridge Association for legal support.
Heading back to Urfa after the meetings in İstanbul with his mother, Ferit Şenyaşar spoke to Mesopotamia Agency (MA).
'OUR SPEECH MARKED THE CONFERENCE'
Stating that they started their tour with Democracy Conference, Şenyaşar said: "We spoke about the injustice done to us when it was our turn to speak. 220 non-governmental organizations were there. Our speach de aerated the conference. Because what we have gone through was incredible. Everyone who came to the podium after us continued their words by referring to our experiences. We saw that many people who saw us in the hall were aware of what we were going through before we told them. Now the whole of Turkey knows what we are going through. Our presentation, which marked the conference, was also the main theme of the conference.”
'THEY WERE AT A LOSS OF WORDS'
Şenyaşar stated that on the second day of their visit, they appeared on some TV shows and shared their experiences with the audience and said: "We have told what we have been going through for 3 years on TV screens. The presenters were astounded by what we told them, although they knew about the event through the media. They could not find a word to say in the face of this injustice."
DURAKOĞLU: THIS UNLAWFULNESS IS UNACCEPTABLE
Şenyaşar said that they visited the People's Bridge Association on the same day and after asking for support, they visited the Istanbul Bar, and said: "We visited the Istanbul Bar, the biggest bar in Turkey. We talked to the President of the Bar Association, Mehmet Durakoğlu, for 40 minutes. We explained the incident and the unlawfulnesses after the incident in detail. Durakoğlu told us, 'This unlawfulness is unacceptable. As the Istanbul Bar Association, we will do all we can and we will follow this case."
'WE WILL CONTINUE OUR VISITS'
Şenyaşar also shared the information that as a result of these contacts, the managers of the Istanbul Bar Association will pay a visit to Urfa in the coming days. Ferit Şenyaşar also stated that the President of the Bar Association, Durakoğlu, stated that they would meet with the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor about what happened in Suruç State Hospital during their visit to Urfa.
Expressing that the legal support visits will continue, Şenyaşar continued as follows: “We will demand support by explaining this unlawfulness to all bar associations, NGOs and democratic mass organizations. We have been continuing the sit in for 110 days. We will continue to do so 5 days a week. We invite everyone who wants to be our voice to sit with us in front of the courthouse."
