AMED - Mehmet Ateş, who was arrested in Amed in 1992 in the PKK case, was released from Kayseri Bünyan prison after 30 years.
Mehmet Ateş was detained in Tepecik village of Karaz district of Amed in 1992. Then, in the case brought against Ateş, he was sentenced to 36 years (Life) in prison on charges of "destroying the unity and integrity of the state" and "being a member of a terrorist organization" at the State Security Court (DGM). Ateş was released from Kayseri Bünyan No. 2 Type T Prison after 30 years of detention.
Ateş family went to Kayseri from Amed for a welcome. Ateş and his companions, who were greeted with great joy in front of the prison, set out for Amed.
Ramazan Ateş, the son of Ateş's uncle, was released from Kayseri Bünyan No. 2 type T prison on December 10, 30 years later.
