URFA - Şenyaşar family, who took a break from the sit-in on its 700th day to display solidarity with the earthquake victims, restarted the sit-in.
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached 699. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018.
Speaking at the sit-in, Ferit Şenyaşar stated that they took a break to show solidarity with the earthquake victims. Şenyaşar said, "We did not find it ethical to stand guard in front of the courthouse while the people under the rubble were waiting to be rescued for days. For this reason, we paused our sit-in for 15 days. We tried to heal the wounds of the earthquake victims as much as possible."
UNTIL JUSTICE IS SERVED…
Şenyaşar said that the sit-in will continue as their demands are still not met, and said: “Three of our family members were killed in the hospital. One of my brothers is still in prison. Everyone, including the President, knows that there is an unlawfulness: however, justice has not been served because he was an MP of the ruling party who committed the massacre. "We will not leave the courthouse until justice is served."
