NEWS CENTER - Mass graves of Ezidis killed in the 74th Massacre were visited.
It has been 9 years since the massacre, known as the "74th Massacre", carried out by ISIS against the Ezidis on August 3, 2014. Ezidi institutions and organizations visited the mass graves in Herdan and commemorated those who lost their lives in the massacre. Shengal residents called on international forces to protect the rights of Ezidis.
Speaking at the commemoration, TAJÊ member Kinê Xidir said: “Our people were massacred 9 years ago by ISIS and with the cooperation of the Barzani family. They wanted to destroy the Ezidi people and evacuate Shengal. Our people resisted and did not allow the enemy to fulfill their dreams. We call on all our people not to forget this dark day for us and to take care of its martyrs. There is the blood of our martyrs in every inch of this land. We promise that we will not give up on the cause of our martyrs who died on this road.”
Kinê Xidir said: “This dark day, which has passed for 9 years, stands as a black stain on the forehead of the countries that claim to protect humanity and human rights. This massacre was carried out in front of the eyes of the whole world. But no one protected us. It is a great shame that this massacre is still not recognized as genocide."
