DİYARBAKIR – Noting that there were 54 violations of the right to life and security against journalists in July, DFG said: "We call on all professional journalists' organizations to show their solidarity against this policy of oppression and surrender."

Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG) published its report on press freedom and rights violations against journalists in July. The report drew attention to the May 14-28 elections and stated that the pressure on journalists continued after the election. The report, which noted that journalists could not do their jobs freely in Turkey, reminded the attacks against Saturday Mothers/People whose actions were blocked despite the decision of the Constitutional Court (AYM) and against those who resisted the ecological massacre. In the report, which also emphasized the detention and arrest of journalists in handcuffs as part of the investigation by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that 5 journalists were detained on the grounds of their social media posts and that Mezopotamya Agency (MA) Ankara correspondent Fırat Can Arslan was arrested. The report included the following statements: "According to the data obtained until July 1, 60 journalists are still in prisons in Turkey for practicing their profession. It also shows that the presumption against journalists of the new government cabinet will be no different from the previous cabinet.Of course, we DFG members will carry out our professional solidarity and professional organization activities among journalists in line with the statue of our association, in order to eliminate the current conditions, and finally, to all journalistic professional organizations, this pressure of the government. and we call for their solidarity against the policies of take-over."
