DÊRSIM - Yeni Yaşam newspaper employee Azime Bozkurt was detained in Dersim.
Azime Bozkurt, an employee of Yeni Yaşam newspaper in Dersim, was detained by the police while she was distributing newspapers in Moğoltay District. Although there was no decision to confiscate the newspaper, the newspapers that were with Bozkurt were also confiscated.
While the police did not provide any information about the reason for the detention, Greens and Left Future Party Dêrsim MP Ayten Kordu and members of the Human Rights Association (IHD), who were there when Bozkurt was detained, condemned the police's attitude and tried to prevent the detention. Kordu said: “There is no decision to confiscate the newspaper. There is no detention order for the person. On what grounds are you detaining him? The detention process was arbitrary."
Despite all objections, Bozkurt was forcibly detained by the police and taken into his vehicle. Bozkurt was taken to Dersim Police Department.
