RIHA - North and East Syria Autonomous Administration Women's Board President Adalet Omer said that Turkey's attack's aim is to leave the Kurds without status.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan targeted Northern and Eastern Syria following the attack on the General Directorate of Security located in the Ministry of Internal Affairs campus on October 1. Immediately after Fidan's statements, infrastructure, service centers, petrol stations and living spaces were targeted in attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria. So far, 45 civilian facilities (health, energy, oil, services, economy, water, schools, grain...) and 20 different areas have been bombed. As a result of the attacks, a total of 15 people lost their lives, including 8 civilians and 7 internal security and SDF fighters. While the air strikes continued, the United States of America (Drone) announced that it shot down an Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drone) belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces. The attacks were protested by tens of thousands of people who took to the streets in Northern and Eastern Syria.
Evaluating the attacks, Adalet Omer, Chairperson of the Women's Board of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, drew attention that it was not a coincidence that the attacks coincided with October, the anniversary of the international conspiracy against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Stating that living spaces in particular have been bombed in Northern and Eastern Syria for the last 3 days, Omer said: “So far, we have lost civilians and security forces. Attacks continue uninterruptedly in some city centers and especially at the border lines. These attacks remind us of the attacks in 2019. We see that they want to invade Northern and Eastern Syria again. Civilian institutions and service institutions were targeted."
'ATTACKS ARE A CONTINUATION OF THE CONSPIRACY'
Omer said: "The fact that the attacks were carried out especially in October is a continuation of the conspiracy launched on October 9 against the leader of the people, Abdullah Öcalan. It was not a coincidence that the attacks launched this year also coincided with October. The silence in the international arena regarding the attacks strengthens our theory. The continuation of the conspiracy against Mr. Öcalan is continued with attacks on the lands where his ideas flourished. The people here are aware of this and go out to the areas condemned to the attacks."
Stating that the Kurds are wanted to be left without status in every field, Omer said: “They want to leave us leaderless and headless. This is the reason why they took Mr. Öcalan captive and persistently implemented the isolation policy. We understand this from the attacks on the system carried out here; however, we continue our journey by getting stronger every day."
'WOMEN ARE PROTECTING THEIR REVOLUTION'
Stating that the people protested the attacks in many cantons, especially Qamishlo and Heseke, Omer said: "Women led these protests. Women's determination to defend the revolution. The people who took to the streets shouted that they were not afraid of these attacks and that they would not step back as a result of these attacks. In these protests led by Congress Star, women again assumed their missions and played their roles. Women are aware that they will bring peace and solution to these lands. That's why they are aware that they are the first target of attacks."
'WOMEN MAKE THEMSELVES FREE'
Stating that women will increase their condemnation against attacks by organizing and that they will respond to attacks in every field, Omer said: “Women know these attacks, they know the colonialists. Colonizers want to confine women to their own gender roles. However, women stand behind the revolution they made. We did not accept surrender from the beginning and we will not. We risked everything to fight. We will continue to weave a life with our own truth, with the hands of women. In the Autonomous Administration, women are growing by organizing more and raising public awareness, and they aim to announce this to the world. We do not have any expectations for this system. We know that women make themselves free.”
