A Drone launched an attack on a vehicle in Sinun town of Shengal in the Federated Kurdistan Region. The attack took place yesterday evening. According to the news of Rojnews, according to the first information obtained about the attack with Turkey's drone, 3 people were injured.
It was stated that Shengal security forces are expected to make a detailed statement about the attack in the coming hours.
The attack coincided with the anniversary of the liberation of Shengal.
After occupying Mosul on June 10, 2014, ISIS attacked Shengal on August 3, 2014.
After the Peshmerga and Iraqi army left the Ezidi people unprotected, HPG and YPG-YPJ forces fought against ISIS gangs and opened a humanitarian corridor between Shengal and Northern and Eastern Syria. These forces started the liberation process of Sinjar in March 2015. Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) was established on April 4. As a result of the operation, the entire Shengal was liberated from ISIS gangs on November 14, 2015.
According to Ezidi organizations, ISIS gangs kidnapped 6 thousand 417 Ezidis in the attack in 2014. 3 thousand 548 of them were women and 2 thousand 869 were men. 3 thousand 739 Ezidis were rescued in various rescue operations. 2,203 of them were women. The fate of the rest is not yet known.
