İZMİR - Journalists who were detained in İzmir and whose police procedures were completed were asked about the news they made.
Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporters Semra Turan, Delal Akyüz and Tolga Güney, JINNEWS reporter Melike Aydın, Gazete Duvar reporter Cihan Başakçıoğlu and Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) press employee Fatma Funda Akbulut, who were detained in the house raids in Izmir on February 13, procedures at the police station have been completed. Journalists were accused of "being members of a terrorist organization" due to their news and interviews with news sources.
ASKED ABOUT RAPE NEWS
At the police station, journalist Turan was asked about the news about the Akbelen resistance, the resistance of Agrobay Greenhouse workers in Bergama and the March 8 events. He was also asked why he was following the hearing of the case regarding the rape of a child with autism.
Journalists Güney, Akyüz, Aydın and Akbulut were asked about the statements of open witness Buse Aslan, who made allegations about "being a member of a terrorist organisation". It was learned that Aslan made claims about journalists that "they are reporting news upon instructions".
'WHY KURDISTAN?'
The headlines of the journalists' news were also evaluated by the police as " terrorist organisation propaganda". It was stated that the journalists were asked, "Why is the word Kurdistan mentioned?"
The journalists are expected to be brought to the prosecutor's office today.
