MEREŞ - At the commemoration held at the grave of Fidan Doğan, the KNK Paris Representative who was murdered in Paris together with Sakine Cansız and Leyla Şaylemez, it was stated that the struggle of the murdered women came to life with the Rojava revolution.
Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Paris Representative Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), who was murdered together with PKK founder Sakine Cansız (Sara) and Kurdish Youth Movement member Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî) in Paris was commemorated at her grave in Xopon neighbourhood of Elbîstan district of Mereş. DEM Party Women's Assembly Spokesperson Halide Türkoğlu, DBP Deputy Co-Chair Narin Gezgör, DBP Central Executive Committee (MYK) members, Free Woman Movement (Tevgera Jinen Azad-TJA) activists, executives of DEM Party and DBP Mereş (Maraş), Dîlok (Antep), Semsûr (Adıyaman), Riha (Urfa) provincial and district organizations and many citizens attended the commemoration.
Speaking after the minute of silence at the grave of Fidan Doğan, DEM Party Assembly (PM) member Pakize Sinemillioğlu pointed out that the massacre has still not been clarified.
POLICY OF IMPUNITY
Emphasising that the reason for the commemoration was both to commemorate the struggle of the 3 women and to reiterate the demand for the massacre to be illuminated, Halide Türkoğlu said that Fidan Doğan's women's struggle in Europe turned into an international struggle and came to life in North and East Syria after the Rojava Revolution. Halide Türkoğlu drew attention to the role of European states in the failure to clarify the massacre and said, "We do not accept this co-operation".
The commemoration ended after carnations were placed on Fidan Doğan's grave.
