NEWS CENTER - KNK Co-chiar Ahmet Karamus stated that Kurds have no alternative but to come together in Rojava and said that unity is a necessity for Kurds.

KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) Co-chair Ahmet Karamus stated that Kurds have put forward a democratic and secular governance model that will include all peoples since the Rojava Revolution, and said that Turkey is trying to liquidate this model. Speaking to Fırat News Agency (ANF), Karamus pointed to Turkey's influence on the HTS, which replaced the BAAS regime after it was overthrown, and said, ‘The Turkish state does not want the Kurds to take part in the administration and rejects and denies the Kurds.’

Karamus emphasised that Turkey has mobilised all its military and diplomatic means to prevent the Kurds from existing.

Pointing out that it is important for Kurds to act together, Karamus said, "The only alternative for Kurds is to act together in Rojava." Underlining the necessity for the Kurds to first agree among themselves, "There was only ENKS that did not accept the current administration. We have been saying since 2012 that there are conditions for Kurds to act together even if they have different opinions," he said.

Referring to the meeting between SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi and KDP Chair Massoud Barzani, Karamus said that this unity is important regardless of who is responsible for it, Karamus added, "The important thing is that they come together and meet face to face and have a dialogue."

Karamus stated that he found it strange that Barzani justified Turkey's attacks with the existence of the PKK in a programme he attended on Shams TV after this meeting and reminded that Turkey had attacked Kurds before the PKK was established.

Stating that Turkey's Kurdish enmity and expansionist politics overlap, Karamus said, "It sees the Kurds as an obstacle to itself. That is why it is increasing its attacks. These attacks are genocidal attacks. The attacks against the Tishreen Dam are also a part of this. Dozens of civilians were massacred. It is the same in Bashûr. Trustee appointments, arrests and detentions in Northern Kurdistan are also a part of these attacks."

Pointing to the Turkish Foreign Minister's visit to Iraq, Karamus emphasised that Turkey continues its efforts to make regional states partners in its Kurdish-hostile policies and said, "All Kurdish people and their friends, we can now easily see the policy, aims and objectives of the Turkish state. Everyone sees this. Everyone who has a conscience should take a stance against this attitude of Turkey and oppose it. No one should be fooled by Turkey's special war rhetoric."
