MÊRDÎN - The fire that started in the Omerîyan region last night was taken under control and extinguished as a result of the efforts of the villagers.

 

The fire that started yesterday in the rural areas of Alûca, Zeytuna, Xirbê Qablo and Qûrdîs villages, located on the borders of Rişmîl (Yeşilli) and Artuklu districts in the Omerîyan region of Mêrdîn (Mardin-Kurdistan), was taken under control. The fire was intervened by the villagers, and later fire brigades intervened with spray engines. The fire was taken under control and extinguished during the night.

 

Hundreds of acres of land were damaged in the fire.
