COLEMÊRG - A lawsuit was filed against 6 rangers who refused to take part in the attacks in the Federated Kurdistan Region of Turkey despite pressure and threats.

A lawsuit was filed against 6 rangers who refused to take part in Turkey's attacks in the Federated Kurdistan Region. In Colemêrg (Hakkari), some rangers were sent notices to participate in the attacks. The notification stated that legal proceedings would be initiated against those who refused to participate in the operation and fines of up to 400 thousand Liras would be imposed. 6 rangers refused to take part in the attacks despite threats of "legal action".

REASONS FOR NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE OPERATION WERE ASKED

A lawsuit was filed against the rangers on the grounds of "disobeying orders and disobeying military law", "violation of military law", "absenteeism" and "dereliction of duty". During the investigation phase, the village guards were asked about their reasons for not participating in the operation. The village guards stated that they had only taken up arms to protect their villages and therefore would not participate in the operation.

'WE DON'T WANT TO DIE'

A ranger, who did not want his name to be included in the news report for security reasons, said that after they refused to participate in the operation, a non-commissioned officer met with them and tried to convince them. Pointing out that the non-commissioned officer swore and insulted them after they refused, the village guard said: "Despite all his threats, we refused to go to the operation. They are taking us to the operation to kill us. We don't want to die. Our lives must not be so cheap."

WEAPONS TAKEN AWAY

Stating that their weapons were confiscated after the lawsuit, the ranger said: "We were called to the police station, threatened many times and finally a lawsuit was filed. It was decided to take our weapons back. I am glad they were taken. They tried to put a lot of pressure on us, even violence, just because we did not go to the operation. We did not do this job to die and we regret it very much."
