The family of Hamid Hosseinnejad Heydaranlu, 40, who was arrested in Iran in July 2024 on the allegation of "being PKK member" and sentenced to death on the charge of "treason", started a sit-in protest in front of Urmia Central Prison. According to the information, Hamid Husseinnejad Heydaranlu was taken to a single cell to be executed on 15 April. His lawyer was also informed that the execution will take place on Friday morning. Upon this, the family started a sit-in in front of the prison to stop the execution.
Qezbet Ruzdari, the mother of Hamid Husseinjad Hayderanlu, had previously released a video message asking for help to prevent the execution.
