NEWS CENTER - Families of Kevser Ete and Abdürrahim Uzun, who lost their lives in chemical weapons attacks, were visited en masse.

 

The family of YJA-Star member Kevser Ete (Helbest Koçerîn), who lost her life and was affected by chemicals in the chemical weapons attacks carried out in the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region of Turkey, in Şırnak's Şilyan village was visited in mass. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak MP Nuran İmir, as well as many people from the surrounding cities and districts, attended the visit led by the Association for Assistance, Solidarity and Culture with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER). Ete's family greeted the visitors with zılgıts and the slogan "Martyr can not die".

 

Speaking at the visit, HDP's Imir said: "The Kurdish people have been resisting oppression and persecution for years. They committed great massacres. International powers also played a role in this massacre. We will not forget this betrayal inside us. Kevser, together with his friends, resisted this brutality until the end. As long as we exist, we will continue to fight them. The slogan 'Jin jiyan azadi' showed itself once again in the person of Kevser."

 

CONDOLENCE VISIT TO UZUN'S FAMILY

 

MEBYA-DER also paid a condolence visit to the family of HPG member Abdürrahim Uzun (Mazlum Nisêbîn), who lost his life in the chemical weapons attacks, in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. Many people gathered in the Abdulkadirpaşa neighborhood and marched to the family's house. Uzun's family members welcomed the visitors. During the condolence visit, a minute's silence was held in memory of those who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy and freedom.

Speaking to our agency about his son's death in the chemical attack, Ahmet Uzun was an "honest person" who took care of his son's Kurdishness. We don't want people to be killed with chemicals. We want international forces to say "stop" to the use of chemical weapons. This is cruelty. Russia and Ukraine are fighting, no chemicals are used. Turkey is using it against an organization. We do not accept the use of chemicals.
