DİYARBAKIR - Representatives of non-governmental organisations in Diyarbakır called for participation in the rally to be held in Silopi on November 6 against the use of chemical weapons.

In the war that Turkey has been waging in the Federated Kurdistan Region since April 17, the condemnations to the use of banned bombs and chemical weapons against the HPG at least 2,467 times continue with actions and activities. Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Free Women's Movement (TJA), Association of Solidarity and Culture with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), Federation of Legal Solidarity Associations with Families of Prisoners and Convicts of Med (MED TUHAD-FED), Peace Mothers' Council, Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Youth Council, Navenda Çanda Mesopotamia (NÇM), Migration Platform and Mesopotamia Ecology Movement called for participation in the rally to be held in Silopi district of Şırnak on Sunday, November 6th. Every city will participate in the rally, which will be organised under the name of “The rally of humanity against chemical weapons”.

Non-governmental organisations operating in Diyarbakir reiterated their invitation for participation in the "Humanity rally against chemical weapons".

'WE WILL REQUEST INVESTIGATION'

Reminding that internationally banned weapons should not be used in military operations, MEBYA-DER Co-Chair Şehmus Karadağ drew attention to what is happening in the Federated Kurdistan Regions, Karadağ said: "We are calling all parties to participate in the rally to be held. All international institutions and organisations, relevant institutions and political parties. We should stand against the chemical weapons and prevent their use. We will make demands for independent delegations to be sent to areas where chemical weapons are used and to conduct research there. This march is also a march of honor and humanity. We, as MEBYA-DER, will be there and we want to see among us all the Kurdish people, democrats, non-governmental organisations and everyone who thinks that the use of chemical weapons is a crime against humanity.”

Mehmet Şirin Demir, Halime Topuz and Mehmet Nur Savaş, directors of MEBYA-DER, also addressed the people with a video to participate in the rally.

'OUR NATURE IS DAMAGED'

Reminding that the use of chemical weapons is prohibited worldwide and it has been signed with the Geneva Convention, 78's Association Branch Co-Chair Hüseyin Barış said: "The use of chemical weapons is not humane. We will raise our voices against this fascist mentality, against those who commit ecological destruction wherever they are. On Sunday, November 6, we will take to the streets against the use of chemical weapons. The peoples should be there because as a result of the chemical weapons used, our children lose their lives and our nature is damaged. We invite all peoples to participate in the rally of humanity and pride that will be held."

'THE THREAT TO THE FUTURE'

Expressing the need to support the rally, TUHAY-DER director Eşref Yaşar  said: “As everyone knows, chemical weapons are banned worldwide. However, Turkey is using chemical weapons intensively on the territory of Kurdistan. Chemical weapons are a threat to the future and all living things. We are waiting for all Kurdish people and everyone who calls themselves democrats to the rally of humanity in Silopi on Sunday, November 6, to once again emphasize that chemical weapons should not be used.”
