URFA - 4 children aged 16-17, who were detained on charges of taking down the school flag in Viranşehir, were beaten at the gendarmerie station.

 

4 children aged 16-17 named M.S.A., E.A., A.A., who allegedly took down the Turkish flag at the Cendele neighborhood secondary school in the Viranşehir district of Riha, were detained and taken to the gendarmerie station. While B.A. gave a statement and was released after the gendarmerie statement, the other 3 children were brought to the district courthouse. After interrogation by the prosecutor's office, 3 children were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for detention on charges of "openly insulting the signs of the state's sovereignty". The judgeship released the 3 children on condition that judicial control provisions are applied.

 

CHILDREN: WE HAVE BEEN BEATEN

 

In their statements before the judge, the children complained that they were beaten by many soldiers in the neighborhood and the gendarmerie station.

 

The children went to the Viranşehir State Hospital and received a report.
