Water and hospital transportation problems in Şırnak Prison

ŞIRNEX – It was stated that the prisoners in Şırnak Type T Closed Prison had problems with hot water and transportation to the hospital.

It was stated that political prisoners in Şırnak Type T Closed Prison were subjected to rights violations. Prisoners conveyed the problems they experienced through their lawyers. Ahmet Üstün, one of the prisoners, said: "In the infirmary, they impose me saying 'take off your shoes, we will look inside'. I did not accept. Thereupon, a disciplinary penalty was given and I am not taken to the hospital."
 
HOT WATER PROBLEM
 
Yıldırım Han, who is a ill prisoner, stated that the food is bad and they were not given hot water. Han said: "Hot water is not provided at all. The guards impose disciplinary penalties on us arbitrarily. We are under a very serious isolation. We want these practices to end."
 
Uğur Temel, one of the prisoners, noted that his letters were confiscated. Temel said: "Our ward is raided every time. In the last raid, our pillow cases, prayer rugs and blankets were confiscated. There is a hot water problem in the prison. It is given only twice a week. We can only take a shower for 20 minutes on Tuesdays and Fridays. The guards have serious pressure on us. They confiscate the letters we receive and tear them up. We do not accept this." 
 
'THERE IS AN ENEMY TREATMENT'
 
Lawyer Fadıl Tay pointed out that all the belongings of the prisoners were confiscated and said: "The prisoners have a serious reaction against this practice. However, there is a very serious enemy treatment towards this reaction. During our meeting, they stated that all their belongings and personal belongings were confiscated. We observed that there is a serious violation of rights in the prison."
