Women participating in the march for “Social peace and democratic solution” in Amed (Diyarbakır) stated that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan must be physically free for peace to be achieved.

The final declaration of the “Kurdish Women Parliamentarians Conference” highlighted the call of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, stating: “The unity of Kurdish women in word, action, and struggle will not only guarantee unity among Kurds, but will also ensure the viability of a democratic society in the four parts.”
DEM Party member Zeynep Nilgun Salmaner emphasised that women should take part in every stage of the new process.
Co-chair of the Autonomous Administration Assembly Avîn Swêd, who participated in the “Kurdish Women Parliamentarians Conference” via zoom from North and East Syria, stated that they take Abdullah Öcalan’s message as a basis, “Women should lead the peace and democratic society project” she said.
Speaking at the “Kurdish Women Parliamentarians Conference,” Democratic Unity Initiative Co-spokesperson Gulcan Kacmaz Sayyigit said: “Naitonal unity belongs to the Kurdish people, to Kurdish women. It will definitely be achieved.”
DEM Party MP Nejla Demir submitted her demand to parliament for the establishment of a commission where women can directly participate in the process that started with the call for "Peace and Democratic Society", and she emphasised the need to create a ground for women's participation in the process.
TJA member Fatma Ablay said: "We invite all women to be the pioneers of democratic society and peace" for the march they will organise with the slogan "Women are marching for social peace and democratic solution".
TJA will organize a march in Amed on May 31 with the motto, "Women marching for social peace and democratic solution".
NADA’s Women’s Coalition secretary member Nubihar Mistefa emphasized that the issue of women is a fundamental human issue, stating, “An internationalist women’s movement must be established to solve this problem.”
Peace Mothers came to Amed from Adana and Mersin for the commemoration of Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun and demanded the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.
NADA will hold its first congress in Sulaymaniyah between May 15-17 2025.
